During the christmas 2008 I tried to build up the optical TX with
3W Luxeon LED. I want to test it side by side with laser TX in the
future.
The schematic is very simple. I am using 1kHz tone oscilator with 555
Timer. Red Luxeon star LED is modulated with transistor IRF510. LED is
focused with short lens with diameter of 70mm and focal length of 70mm.
The output is quite bright and its beam widht is about 50mRad (2.9 DEG).
